Our Philosophical Vision

We seek to renew adult and higher education as a transforming journey as we integrate the wisdom of diverse religious, contemplative and cultural traditions. Here are six expansive circles of reflection and dialogue that we foster and facilitate:

  1. We seek to explore the life and teachings of Jesus, and the various ways in which people have interpreted the meaning of his message and ministry throughout the ages.
  2. We seek to encourage ecumenical dialogue between the diversity of Christian theological and spiritual worlds, including the mystical, progressive, humanistic, redemptive, existential and emergent interpretative traditions.
  3. We seek to encourage inter-religious and inter-ideological dialogue between the world’s diverse religious faiths and secular philosophies.
  4. We seek to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue that encompasses the expanding knowledge of the contemporary world, including the cultural domains of religion, philosophy, history, literature, the arts, sciences, psychology and sociology.
  5. We seek to encourage an inter-cultural dialogue that explores ideas and values such as mystery and revelation, scripture and tradition, reason and experience, art and science, ritual and sacrament, individuality and community, language and culture, icon and symbol, myth and metaphor, unity and diversity, and the idea of “God” or “Ultimate Reality” as the ineffable mystery of Absolute Paradox, “the coincidence of opposites.”
  6. We seek to encourage an inter-historical dialogue that connects the complementary perspectives and divergent sensibilities contained within the primordial, ancient, medieval, modern, post-modern and emergent trans-modern epochs of universal human history.
